In late July, we first reported that Alex Ovechkin would have a cereal named after him this season. Now Giant Food has released the full details.
The honey-nut cereal will hit Giant Food shelves on September 17 — Ovi’s birthday — and will available across all 163 of their stores in Washington, D.C., Maryland, Virginia, and Delaware. Ovi O’s will be sold for $2.69 and will be available “while supplies last.”
There is also a charitable aspect of this activation. A portion of proceeds from the sale of Ovi O’s will go to the Children’s Cancer Foundation, Inc., a non-profit based in Maryland.
