Update: The Washington Capitals commented on The Athletic’s and Adam Gold’s reporting and say they will not be the Hurricanes’ opponent for the Stadium Series game. The Washington Post’s Samantha Pell reported the news.
The Washington Capitals are not the Hurricanes’ opponent in the Stadium Series game next winter at Carter-Finley Stadium, per Caps spokesman.

Original Story: Two years after hosting a Stadium Series game in Annapolis, MD, the Washington Capitals appear “likely” to be playing outdoors once again.
99.9 The Fan’s Adam Gold reported Saturday that the Carolina Hurricanes will be hosting a Stadium Series game at the home of NC State’s football team, Carter-Finley Stadium.
Gold tabbed the Capitals and the Penguins as the possible opponents.
