Wednesday morning the Capitals announced that local Caps radio broadcasts will be returning to FM radio. Last season, after several years on 106.7 WJFK The Fan, the station dropped hockey, leaving fans in the DC area with only one option: 1500 AM WFED Federal News Radio.
Even with the AM coverage, when programming conflicts arose, fans could only access radio through the team’s mobile app. A mid-season FM deal was struck with 104.7, but it was a low power station that left many local fans without FM coverage.
Fans wanting to tune into Caps hockey on AM instead of FM can still use 1500 AM this season, but this season the Caps will be returning to 106.7 FM as their flagship station.
