Dallas Stars announce Tyler Seguin and Ben Bishop to miss five months after offseason surgeries

The Dallas Stars played with an absurd amount of injuries during their Stanley Cup Final run and on Tuesday there were some new developments.

Tyler Seguin and Ben Bishop both went under the knife and will be out five months. The players will be eligible to return around the beginning of April, meaning they will likely miss the first several months of the 2020-21 season if it begins in January or February.

November 2, 2017: The day the NHL had no chill

While Capitals fans were witnessing Lars Eller having one of the best nights of his career, the NHL, as if it were on a sugar high after eating too much Halloween candy, was going berserk in its other games.

The NHL saw a 57-save performance, a hat trick, fights between angry non-fighters, and a bunch of goalies being grumpy Thursday night.

Ben Bishop says Alex Ovechkin has the hardest shot in the World Cup

In the run-up to the World Cup of Hockey, Team USA goaltender Ben Bishop spoke to ESPN’s Chuck Gormley about which players in the tournament have the best offensive skills.

He mentioned a lot of Caps players.

Braden Holtby Named Vezina Trophy Finalist

Three years after being relegated to third-string duty under Adam Oates, Braden Holtby is now a finalist for the the top award at his position. Wednesday night, we learned that the league’s general managers, who vote on the award, named Holtby as one of the three finalists for the Vezina Trophy for his performance in the regular-season. The honor is given “to the goalkeeper adjudged to be the best at his position.”

Why Did Radko Gudas Wear a Full Cage After Fighting Tom Wilson?

Skating in his second game of the season on Saturday, Washington Capitals forward Tom Wilson looked to make an impact in any way he could. That included getting in his first fight of the season with Lightning defenseman Radko Gudas after Eric Fehr crashed into Lightning goalie Ben Bishop. Gudas skated towards Fehr, and Wilson was having none of that.

They dropped the gloves. Boys will be boys. Willy Baby unleashed one vicious punch that connected early in the fight. Gudas, who doesn’t wear a face shield (this is important for later), then skated off the ice and went to the locker room.

When Gudas came back to the Lightning bench, he was wearing a full cage.
