Several years ago, Ovie The Bulldog and his parents were forced to relocate to San Diego. But just because the pup is out in California, doesn’t mean he’s shed his allegiance to the Capitals.
Saturday after the Caps’ morning skate, Ovie posed with many of his favorite players before they bussed to the team hotel. He took pictures with TJ Oshie, Lars Eller, and Justin Williams as well as Coach Trotz.
This just in. The Department of Player Safety has suspended Kevin Shattenkirk two games for his charge of Los Angeles Kings defenseman Kevin Gravel.
Shattenkirk left his feet to deliver a hit to Gravel’s head.
The NHL Department of Player Safety has announced that Caps defender Kevin Shattenkirk will have a hearing to discuss his hit on Kings defender Kevin Gravel in third period of Saturday night’s game.
It could be Shattenkirk’s first suspension.

It’s really late, the DC snow forecast is a whole bowl full of N-O-P-E, the Wizards won on a buzzer beater, and the Caps just lost for the third time in a row.
Jakub Vrana got on the board with a man advantage tally after a fantastic feed from Kevin Shattenkirk, but the lead was short lived as Marian Gaborik slammed home a rebound to make the game 1-1. The Caps would end the first with 4 total shots.
TJ Oshie would not wait long to restore the Capitals lead, scoring less than a minute into the second period. Unfortunately, Anze Kopitar would again level things on the power play soon after and we ended 40 minutes locked at two goals apiece.
Adrian Kempe’s first NHL goal was a huge one, putting the Kings up 3-2. Jeff Carter empty netter.
Kings beat Caps 4-2.

Because the Capitals love us, they captured footage of the players walking into the locker room at Staples Center, Saturday night. Wearing suits and looking all handsome, Capitals players walked by, ignoring the camera.
And then Braden Holtby happened.

With a goal in the second period, Thomas Jefferson Oshie has tied the career-high in goals he set last season. But unlike last year, Oshie still has a lot more hockey to play. Dude’s gonna hit 30.
Saturday night in Los Angeles, hundreds of the Caps fans invaded Staples Center for the Caps-Kings game.
During the second period, CSN cameras captured Barry Trotz on the bench. A Caps fan held up a very special sign.
After falling 4-2 to the San Jose Sharks Thursday, the Washington Capitals needed to come out to a quick start against the Los Angeles Kings. They got exactly that with Jakub Vrana’s first-period powerplay goal.
The tally was made possible by a picture-perfect slap pass by Kevin Shattenkirk.
The Capitals are still in beautiful California on their west coast road trip while most of us are stuck in the 35 degree weather area of the District of Columbia with a forecast predicting up to a foot of snow. Yay…
More bad news. The Kings just like their California counterpart San Jose Sharks are very good against the Capitals at home. The last time DC took all the points in LA was in 2005, Jamie Heward had two goals and Steve Eminger was your leading ice-time man. Good times…?
