Alex Ovechkin was among those honored in marshmallow form at The 19th Annual PEEPshow, held in the TownMall of Westminster, Maryland.

“The Great Peep,” a sugary sculpture created by talented artists Charlotte and Stephanie L., depicts a gap-toothed smiling Ovechkin in full uniform, holding a hockey stick. The NHL’s all-time leader in gooey goodness, I mean, goals, is also accompanied by a manual goal counter, which has continued to be updated as Ovechkin has gone on a tear at the end of the season.

Approximately 2,020 Peeps were used to create the simply sensational Russian marsh-ine, which currently sits 17th in voting for best in show. Among the other sick unbelievable Peep creations submitted are Bad Bunny’s Halftime Show (a bold topic for Carroll County!), an America 250 anniversary diorama (“We the PEEP-LE”), and the Artemis rocket (“Giant Leap for Peeps). Voting ends on Monday, April 6.

The annual fundraiser is run by the Carroll County Arts Council. Entries can be viewed for free, but votes must be bought, with all proceeds benefiting the Arts Council, a worthy cause.
