Alex Ovechkin became the new NHL goals king on Sunday. Now, he may be the league’s new drip king as well.

Thursday, ahead of the Capitals’ “Gr8ness Pre-Game Ceremony,” Bleacher Report posted photos of Ovechkin’s custom suit from talented designer Tom Barnett.

The navy blue suit coat features spectacular details that make the piece a true one-of-one — perfect for the incomparable hockey player who will wear it.

The inner suit lining features Ovechkin’s face in red, surrounded by goal pucks denoting every team he scored against for each of his 895 tallies. The back of the collar is red and features GR895 stitched in white.

Barnett’s label features Ovechkin’s personal shield made by Nike.

Ovi wore the suit to the game and took photos on the team’s goals throne honoring him.

Barnett also designed Ovechkin’s grey suit that he wore when he flew to Long Island ahead of his record-breaking game against the New York Islanders on April 6, 2025.

The Buffalo, New York-based designer was also the man behind Ovechkin’s GR802 suit. The inner suit lining featured milestone moments in Ovi’s career and imagery of his family.

Barnett has done suits in the past for other NHL players and current Capitals players like John Carlson and Dylan Strome.
