Capital One Arena will play host to Game Three of the Washington Capitals-New York Rangers first-round playoff series on Friday night at 7 pm. To get properly ready for the big game, Aramark — the arena’s food vendor — is ready to burn your mouth off in a way that would make Caps captain Alex Ovechkin proud.
Fans in attendance will be able to order a new “DC Flammin’ Hot Fried Chicken Sandwich” if they traverse up to a concession stand in section 422. The new sandwich, likely a nod to Ovechkin’s habit of eating a bag of Flamin’ Hot Cheetos on the team’s plane for road trips, is one of a few specials the vendor is providing for the first home playoff game in the series.

The cost of the sandwich, which appears to have actual Flamin’ Hot Cheetos sprinkled over a chicken breast also breaded in the Cheetos, has not been announced. Yes, that’s a real sentence.
Once your mouth is melting from the sandwich, Cap One also has you covered. Just a short jog away, a concession stand in section 408 will sell a “Capital Sundae,” which appears to be a strawberry-sauce-covered scoop of ice cream on top of a donut with blue icing.
Just in case the ice cream wasn’t enough to fan the flames, the other provided photos showcase a couple of fruity, iced alcoholic beverages with lime slices as a garnish.
This isn’t the first time that the Capitals have debuted an absurd new sandwich for the first home game in a playoff series. Back in 2022, Aramark came out with a spicy fried chicken sandwich on a cinnamon roll.
