This old dog’s got new tricks.
Alex Ovechkin, along with several former and current Washington Capitals teammates, participated in Danis Zaripov’s farewell game on Wednesday held at Kazan’s TatNeft Arena.
Ovechkin, who will turn 38 in September, participated in the shootout and added a fancy new wrinkle to his move.
Ovechkin put the puck between his legs before beating the goaltender bardown.

In the NHL, Ovi usually comes down on the wing and cradles the puck to his forehand before choosing either to shoot or deke onto his backhand.
But if he can go bardown everytime like this, maybe he should just go through the legs every time.
