Devon Toews taunts Capitals, does Evgeny Kuznetsov’s bird celly after scoring

Through two periods of play, the New York Islanders’ fourth line has scored twice, buoying them to a commanding 4-1 lead at intermission.

Devon Toews was the latest fourth-liner to score, finding the back of the twine after his one-timer clanged off the post and in.

But it’s what happened next which drew the ire of Caps fans.

Caps Twitter was not impressed.

This is the second time a team has taunted the Capitals with the bird celly. In 2019, the Blue Jackets did the bird celly as a team after beating the Capitals in overtime.

Update: The Washington Capitals scored five unanswered goals in the third period to come back and beat the New York Islanders 6-4. Alex Ovechkin tallied a hat trick.
