Russian machine never breaks, but sometimes needs a neck massage on the bench

Washington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin felt human pain in the first period after a rough drive to the net.

The play left Ovi needing a neck massage from team trainer Jason Serbus on the bench, but y’all, you know he was fine because Russian machine never breaks.

The play that put a kink in the Russian machine’s head swivel area occurred in the Hurricanes offensive zone. Ovi tried to do an outside-inside move on Brett Pesce. Pesce took the body and appears to elbow Ovi in the neck, causing one of the greatest goalscorers of all-time fall over and slam into James Reimer.

Ovechkin was uncomfortable after the play, needing attention from Serbus and his magic hands on the bench.

Ovi did not miss a shift. He had two shot attempts in the first stanza.
