Capitals release roster and schedule for 2018 Development Camp

The Washington Capitals won their first ever Stanley Cup in franchise history less than a month ago. While the offseason is now in full swing, the organization still has no time for a vacation as they prepare for a host of talented prospects to descend on Kettler Capitals Iceplex for their 2018 Development Camp.

Monday afternoon, the Capitals released the full roster of prospects slated to attend camp which begins Tuesday.

Roster

Development Camp will be headlined by 2015 first-round draft pick Ilya Samsonov, who is one of the best goalie prospect in the NHL. Samsonov missed 2017 Development Camp due to his KHL contract with Metallurg Magnitogorsk. As Samsonov signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Capitals in May, he is now free to attend. He will likely start next season in Hershey.

Capitals’ 2018 first-round draft pick and hilarious human, defenseman Alexander Alexeyev will be attending Development Camp for the first time.

A few familiar faces will be returning for the 2018 Camp, including Stanley Cup champion forward Shane Gersich and (possible hair model) Axel Jonsson-Fjallby. Brian Pinho, who the Capitals signed to a two-year, entry-level contract in April, will also attend.

Capitals development camp kicks off June 26 and runs through Saturday, June 30.
