Caps beat Rangers 4-1, And Now… Playoffs!

That’s it. That is all 82 games of the regular season in the books. The word you are thinking of is ROLLERCOASTER. The Caps’ dominating win over the Rangers was exactly what this team needed heading into the postseason.

Ovi scored like 30 seconds in on a set play off Brooks Laich’s faceoff. Matty Perreault deflected in Roman Hamrlik’s long bomb. John Carlson converted a dismal powerplay. That was all in the first period. Nicky Backstrom got his first goal since returning, and then Brian Boyle broke Braden Holtby’s shutout.

No bullet points tonight. We are still at Front Page having a merry time. Lots of hockey yet to come.

Crash the net.
