He looks very proud of himself.

Since Evgeny Kuznetsov got moved off the fourth line, Tom Wilson has reverted into his role of being the toughest mug in the NHL. In the second period of the Ducks game, Wilson showed off some his dazzling physical game, lowering the boom on Anaheim Ducks’ defenseman Stephane Robidas.

While the hit isn’t necessarily the most-highlight-y highlight to ever highlight, Wilson’s strength is on full display here.

Wilson legally checks Robidas with his hip a few feet from the boards. Then he sends Robidas airborne until the boards halted the momentum.

Robidas struggled to skate off the ice. He winced in pain on the bench.

He does not look to be in a good place.

CSN color guy Craig Laughlin asked Wilson about the hit during the second intermission.

“As they went D to D, I kinda read it,” Wilson said. “As Robidas was turning I just kind of keep low and finish through on him. Just get bumps on those [defensemen].”

Yup, sure did. Robidas was lucky to get his breath back after that one.
