Twenty-one-year-old Flyers winger Scott Laughton was badly injured during the first period of Game Four.

With the Flyers leading 1-0, Laughton skated behind the Caps net with John Carlson in pursuit.

Carlson and Laughton collided, and Laughton lost an edge. He crashed into the boards and did not get up. Philadelphia was silent.

Laughton was awake and alert but immobile.

Flyers support staff came on the ice, followed by EMTs with a back board. Laughton was helped off the ice to a round of applause from Wells Fargo Center.

According to the Flyers, Laughton was transported to the hospital for precautionary reasons.

Laughton has played 109 games in his three seasons. We look forward to number 110.
