Saturday night, the National Capital Chesapeake Bay Chapter held their 58th annual Emmy Awards at the Baltimore Marriott and several big names in the Caps media brought home some hardware.
CSN Mid-Atlantic’s Joe Beninati, who has been calling Capitals games on TV since 1994, brought home two Emmys. First, Beninati was named this area’s best sports play-by-play man.

Later, Beninati along with color commentator Craig Laughlin, reporter Al Koken, producer Stephen Farrell, and executive producer Bill Bell won the best Sporting Event/Game – Live/Unedited Emmy for their production of the Caps’ Game Seven win against the New York Islanders last year.

And while he’s not in the headline, CSN Mid-Atlantic’s Michael Jenkins won two Emmys as well for Best Anchor and Best Daily Or Weekly Program for his work on Sportsnet Central.
