While the Oshies, Alzners, Winniks, Johanssons, and Backstroms are in the Bahamas and the Holtbys, the Chorneys, Tom Wilson, and Brett Connolly are in Turks and Caicos, Dmitry Orlov didn’t want to part with the cold chill of a hockey rink and instead is in Aspen, Colorado.
He and his wife Varvara are snowboarding in the Rocky Mountains.
In the above picture, Orlov and Varvara pose in front of some gorgeous scenery while Dima clutches a snowboard. Despite the bye week, Orlov is still repping the Caps with his Winter Classic beanie and gloves. According to RMNB’s Graham Dumas, Orlov uses the picture to say “Happy Valentines Day, everyone! From me and Varvara.”
Varvara used her Instagram to explain the couple’s decision to head to the mountains saying, “Many people spend lots of hours racking their brains over the best place to go on vacation. Most of them end up just heading to the seaside… but [my] Russian soul demanded mountains. That unforgettable time when you can enjoy true freedom and nature’s real beauty.”
