At the beginning of NFL free agency, the Washington Redskins fired their GM and let several of their most popular players leave to other teams. That includes defensive lineman Chris Baker, who signed a three-year, $15.75 contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
“It was really hurtful learning that the Redskins didn’t really offer me a contract, being that I was one of their best defensive linemen on their team for the last couple of years and really worked my way up from the practice squad to being one of the best linemen,” Baker said on Sirius XM NFL Radio according to NFL.com. “And for them not to offer me was very hurtful, but I understand it’s a business and I’m very happy to move forward with the Buccaneers and I think I really have a bright future there.”
Despite that disappointment, Baker is still repping his favorite Washington-area teams and on Thursday night, Baker went to the Caps-Predators game at Verizon Center. I can confirm Swaggy had a fantastic time thanks to Tom Wilson.
The Wilson and Austin Watson fight happened right in front of him.
“This is why I come to hockey games times like this #LETSGOCAPS,” Baker wrote on Instagram.
Later Baker, who appears to be the most popular person in his section, took video of Caps fans unleashing the fury.
Baker has been a longtime fixture at games, sporting gold chains and a number 92 SWAGGY Caps home jersey.
