Tuesday at Kettler Capitals Iceplex, a large banner was hung above the rink, congratulating defenseman Brooks Orpik and wife Erin on the birth of their second child. The couple named their baby girl Brooklyn.
The sign, prepared by the Capitals Fan Club, reads Congrats Brooks & Erin. Brooklyn is the family’s second daughter. Two-year-old Harlow Orpik was born in March of 2015.

A Capitals spokesman confirmed the birth of Brooklyn in an email.
