Christian Djoos leaves game in second period after suffering upper-body injury

Tuesday, the Washington Capitals finally got back to full strength on defense as Matt Niskanen returned to the lineup after being out for a month due to a thumb injury. Their full health on the backline lasted only 34 minutes of play.

With 6:02 left in the second period, Christian Djoos played his last shift of the night.

The injury may be minor as nothing apparent happened during Djoos’ last shift that would indicate injury.

Djoos would not return for the third period as the Caps termed the defenseman’s ailment as an upper-body injury. He will be re-evaluated tomorrow.
