The Hershey Bears will wear their first glow-in-the-dark jersey in franchise history when they take on the Charlotte Checkers, Sunday, October 4.

Inspired by Dark Nights, a haunted attraction at Hersheypark Halloween, the spooky black Bears’ jerseys feature an updated crest logo that spells BEARS in a slasher-style font.

Not only does the logo glow, but the players’ names and numbers on the back do too.

The jerseys also have a Dark Nights patch on the shoulder.

The specialty jerseys come as Dark Nights celebrates its fifth anniversary at the amusement park. The special attraction runs from Sept. 12 through Nov. 1 and features five haunted houses and five scare zones, all included with Hersheypark Halloween admission. Dark Nights begins at 6 pm on operating nights.

Per the Bears, select characters from Dark Nights “will leave the shadows of Hersheypark and prowl the concourse” during the takeover night. The one-of-a-kind jerseys players wear will be auctioned off following the game. Hershey also says that replica jerseys will be available on-site only.

Puck drop for the game is 3 pm. The matchup will mark the second game of a weekend back-to-back at home against the Checkers.

Hershey’s promotional calendar also mentions that Sunday’s game is a Bears Brunch game.
