The Washington Capitals held their final on-ice event of the 2025-26 season on Friday morning, concluding their annual Development Camp with a three-on-three tournament. Puck drop was at 8:30 am.
Team Red held off a furious comeback attempt by Team Gray in the championship game to repeat as champions.
Prospects Petr Sikora, Maxim Schafer, Miroslav Satan Jr., Ty Higgins, and AJ Reyelts lifted the Future Caps Cup in front of a big crowd at MedStar Capitals Iceplex and numerous Capitals’ staffers and executives, including Capitals general manager Chris Patrick, head coach Spencer Carbery, and Development Coach Brooks Orpik.
Prospects Lynden Lakovic, Joaquim Lemay, and Cam Allen were unable to play due to injury and watched from the bench. Lakovic, the captain for Gray, was particularly active cheering his team on.
Once the tournament was over, the prospects shook hands because, in the end, they are all teammates.
“It was good,” Carbery said. “We just caught the last — we had coaches meetings off-site where we were trying to get dialed in as a staff with Ray and the rest of the group — but to be able to come out and watch the three-on-three tournament and some of the young bucks that are knocking on the door to whether they’re going to play in Hershey or come to camp, it’s good to be able to get eyes on them.”
As Carbs walked away from the podium concluding his chat with reporters, he turned to the media and said, “See you before you know it.”
