The Edmonton Oilers announced that star forward Leon Draisaitl is out for the rest of the regular season due to a lower-body injury he suffered against the Nashville Predators on Sunday.
Draisaitl has 97 points (35g, 62) in 65 games this season, which ranks fourth in the NHL behind only Connor McDavid (114), Nathan MacKinnon (110), and Nikita Kucherov (106).

Forward expected to miss remainder of regular season with lower-body injury sustained vs. Nashville
EDMONTON, AB – The Edmonton Oilers released the following statement on Tuesday afternoon regarding the status of forward Leon Draisaitl.
Edmonton Oilers forward Leon Draisaitl is expected to miss the remainder of the regular season after sustaining a lower-body injury in the first period of the team’s game versus Nashville on March 15.
Draisaitl has scored 35 goals and 62 assists for 97 points in 65 games this season.
Draisaitl suffered the injury early in the game against the Predators, taking an awkward hit in front of the Predators’ bench from Nashville’s Ozzy Wiesblatt.
Edmonton has 14 games remaining in their season and currently sit third in the NHL’s Pacific Division with 75 standings points. They are only four points away from not being in a playoff position, as two divisional rivals, the Seattle Kraken and Los Angeles Kings, have collected 71 points.
