Team USA won its first Olympic gold medal in 46 years — the first since the ‘Miracle on Ice’ team in 1980 — after Jack Hughes scored the overtime game-winner. While the moment was huge across the country, there were practically no official jerseys available online because they had already sold out of their limited run early.
Tuesday, the NHL shop announced a “special event restock” where jerseys for Team USA players — including Hughes’ replica white jersey where he scored the golden goal — can be purchased on preorder.
“Team USA Hockey jerseys sold out fast following their historic tournaments,” the NHL Shop writes. “Fanatics has secured one final production run from its vendor partner for fans who missed out. This allotment is expected to completely sell out with no further restocks planned. These jerseys will require additional time to produce and ship to customers later this summer. If that timeline works for you, pre-order now.”
Players that are available in the drop include Jack Hughes, Quinn Hughes, Matthew Tkachuk, Connor Hellebuyck, Auston Matthews, Charlie McAvoy, and Dylan Larkin.
On top of the sweaters, the NHL Shop has made available special navy graphic t-shirts featuring Hughes’ Golden Goal photo and Hellebuyck’s save. There’s also a new USA women’s hockey hoodie available, which I liked so much I purchased.
