Ethen Frank won’t be able to represent the Hershey Bears at the 2025 AHL All-Star Classic, but the league has replaced the lightning-quick winger with one of his Hershey teammates.

Alex Limoges, Hershey’s third-leading scorer, will join defenseman Ethan Bear for the event taking place at the Coachella Valley Firebirds’ Acrisure Arena on February 2 and 3.

Frank is up in the NHL with the Washington Capitals. The team is currently on a five-game road trip through the end of January.

Limoges has 25 points (9g, 16a) in 30 games for the Eastern Conference-leading Bears. The Winchester, Virginia native is playing his second season in Hershey after recording 51 points (24g, 27a) in 62 games last year.

The Bears will also see head athletic trainer Shawn Fliszar, assistant athletic trainer Max Finley, head equipment manager Josh Carter, and assistant equipment manager Dillon Filepas join Limoges and Bear in California.

Frank missing out means he will not be able to defend his AHL’s Fastest Skater title, which he has claimed the past two years. He’s the only player in AHL history to complete a lap under 13 seconds, doing so in 12.915 seconds back at the 2023 event.
