The Washington Capitals won their eighth consecutive road game — a new franchise record — against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Friday night. Now, the Capitals are in Quebec, to take on the Montreal Canadiens in an attempt to make it 9, while completing their first of three back-to-backs in December.
Montreal will have some additional firepower as Patrik Laine returns to the ice after missing two months with a knee injury.
Meanwhile, Capitals starting goaltender Logan Thompson may have some extra motivation for tonight’s game. Facing him in net is Sam Montembeault who beat him out for a spot on Team Canada’s 4 Nations Face Off roster.
The Capitals-Habs game is airing on Monumental Sports Network 2. Joe Beninati and Craig Laughlin have the call. Puck drop is shortly after 7:00 pm.
