Ryan Reaves tends to leave his mark on games despite receiving around eight minutes of ice time each game. Things were no different on Wednesday night as Reaves literally redecorated the Capital One Arena boards due to his lorge tuchus.
During a first-period shift, the rugged Maple Leafs forward threw a hit on Capitals defenseman John Carlson. In doing so, Reaves scraped his body along the dasherboards in front of Washington’s bench and took a chunk of the Lexus ad sticker with him.
In what is the hockey equivalent of coming out of a bathroom with toilet paper on your shoe, Reaves skated down the ice with the ad flapping in the wind attached to his rear end. The big winger eventually noticed his new tagalong and threw it to the ice.
The 37-year-old winger shared a laugh with his teammates once he got back to the bench.
“Hey, wait a minute, somebody call the advertising department,” Monumental Sports Network’s Joe Beninati said.
“He’s using a parachute to work on his skating,” Craig Laughlin added.
Through two periods of play against the Capitals, Reaves skated 5:16 of ice time. He was credited with two hits and a few seconds of unofficial Lexus sponsorship.
