Here’s the Capitals slapping the living bejeezus out of each other with tortillas: ‘You just made my ear ring!’

The Washington Capitals made the most of their time during Media Day last month. And by that, I mean, the Caps conducted Tortilla Slap Challenges during breaks between shooting promotional photos and videos.

Well, I’m happy to report our favorite hockey players did not take it easy on each other as evidenced by Connor McMichael and Nic Dowd.

“I’m sorry I broke it on your face,” a concerned Dowd said to McMichael as they finished their session.

The Andrew Mangiapane and Charlie Lindgren pairing also got a little violent.

“Ow, man!!!” Mangiapane yelled at a laughing Lindgren. “You just made my ear ring!”

“Holy cow,” Lindgren responded. “I love it.”

Dylan Strome asked his combatant, Alex Ovechkin, to give him “a little practice run.” Ovi did not hold back and appeared to hit Strome harder in his trial than during the real game.

“Aw, Jesus!” Strome said instantly regretting it.

Tom Wilson, who takes punches to the face for a living, held his left cheek after John Carlson walloped him with his swing.

“It more hurts than funny,” Wilson said.

But perhaps, there was no greater pairing than Hendrix Lapierre and Aliaksei Protas. Lapierre could not stop laughing and Protas’s jersey bore the brunt of it.

“SORRY, PRO!” a bent-over laughing Lapierre said after spitting in his teammate’s face not once but twice.

“Do you have a towel or anything?” Protas responded.
