The Bears are returning most of their core players from last year’s Calder Cup championship-winning team as they try to three-peat this season including Hunter Shepard, Mike Vecchione, Ivan Miroshnichenko, Matt Strome, Henrik Rybinski, and Vincent Iorio. The team saw two of its players graduate to the NHL during Capitals’ Training Camp: AHL Playoff MVP, Hendrix Lapierre, and their captain Dylan McIlrath.
The free Bears game come as the AHL’s streaming service moved to the FloSports platform this fall and was renamed AHLTV on FloHockey.
The Hershey Bears play at the same time as the Washington Capitals drop the puck on their 50th anniversary season. The Capitals will face off against the New Jersey Devils at Capital One Arena.
