Capitals media day gives us the joy of a Pierre-Luc Dubois spit take

Matt Roy called Pierre-Luc Dubois “a great teammate” during his time with the Los Angeles Kings, and now I think I’m starting to see why.

Wednesday, the Capitals hosted media day at MedStar Capitals Iceplex and made the team’s stars play silly games for social media content.

The resulting media is usually trite, but this short clip of Dubois doing the Tortilla Slap Challenge with Martin Fehervary is genuinely memorable.

In the video, Dubois cracks up before even attempting to slap Fehervary. Then, a millisecond after PLD’s tortilla makes weak contact with the Slovakian defenseman’s face, he does a spit take and can’t stop laughing.

PLD’s journey over the last few seasons makes the Capitals’ bet on him a big one, but the more you see content like this, the more hopeful you become that DC will help him blossom again.
