The Washington Capitals are quickly turning their attention from a crazy first day of NHL Free Agency to the team’s 2024 Development Camp. The organization’s draft picks, prospects, and other invitees will get their first day of on-ice work on Tuesday.
The Capitals announced the full roster of players in attendance this year and the schedule for the five-day camp on Tuesday morning. The week’s practices and events will be held at the club’s practice facility, MedStar Capitals Iceplex.
All eight of Washington’s selections from the 2024 draft will be in attendance, including top picks Terik Parascak and Cole Hutson. However, none of the players that factored into the Hershey Bears’ long run to a second straight Calder Cup championship will join them.
Ryan Leonard and Andrew Cristall lead the list of returnees at forward while Ryan Chesley does the same on the backend. In goal, the French-born Antoine Keller is the only netminder back from last year’s camp.
Junior and college free agents fill nine spots of the 31-man group. Pierre McGuire’s son, Ryan McGuire, and Silver Spring, Maryland native Eric Charpentier are included there.
