Capitals mascot, Slapshot, impressed at All-Star weekend and reminded us all that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

At Fan Fest, the ice-skating eagle gave a nod to his bird brother from another bird mother, Evgeny Kuznetsov. Slapshot did Kuznetsov’s super slow shootout move and scored a highlight-reel goal.

“Did I do this breakaway right, @Kuzya92? 🦅”

Not only did you do it right, Slappy, but you also nailed the bird celly afterward.

Slapshot also made us proud, finding the back of the net in the Mascot Challenge. Our feisty flappy friend scored, appropriately, near Ovi’s office in the left circle.

Good job making us proud, Slapshot.

Even during the dodgeball game!
