Andrew Cristall, the Washington Capitals’ second-round pick (40th overall) from the 2023 NHL Draft, was named WHL Player of the Week after having an incredible string of games.
Cristall had a goal and eight assists, giving him nine points in three appearances. His team, the Kelowna Rockets, won all three games (3-0-0-0). All eight of Cristall’s assists were primary helpers.

Cristall’s big week started with a four-point night on Wednesday, October 18 against the Swift Current Broncos.
There was no quit on Max Graham to track down that puck for his first of the season.

The 18-year-old right wing set up the game-winning goal by Gabriel Szturc, earning First Star of the game afterward. The Kelowna Rockets won 6-3.

The 5-foot-10, 175-pound right wing added two more assists on Friday, October 20 as the Rockets beat the Tri-City Americans.

Cristall would score the shootout-clinching goal, giving the Rockets a 4-3 win.

Finally, Cristall scored his first goal of the week on Saturday, October 21, a snipe from the top of the circles on the power play.

He also added two more primary assists, including setting up Szturc for another game-winning goal. Cristall was named the Second Star of the contest as the Rockets defeated the Vancouver Giants 6-5.
Cristall’s big week shot him up near the top of the WHL scoring race. The Capitals’ prospect has 23 points (7g, 16a) in 10 games, placing him fourth. The Prince George Cougars’ Ondrej Becher leads all players with 27. Cristall has a seven-game point streak that began on Saturday, October 7. He’s potted points in nine of his 10 games since being cut from Capitals’ Training Camp.
