WHL’s Vancouver Giants create amazing spectacle by wearing referee jerseys during game

The Vancouver Giants went viral on Sunday night for specialty jerseys they wore in a game against the Spokane Chiefs. The WHL junior hockey team rocked black and white striped jerseys for Referee Appreciation Night.

The jerseys are currently being auctioned off and can be bid on through Elevate Auctions.

Not only did the Giants wear the sweaters during warmups, but they also kept them on during the game, creating a ridiculous spectacle.

The actual officials in the game wore a beige outfit to standout from the players.

The Giants would go on to beat the Chiefs 5-3 in the game. Patrik Kral would end up netting the game-winner. You can see the full game highlights here.

Somewhat ironically, Spokane would get one more power play (5) than Vancouver (4) on the night. I guess that tribute to the Stripes wasn’t tribute-y enough.
