Evgeny Kuznetsov and Alex Ovechkin tie game with goals 1:54 apart in the second period

After falling behind 2-0 and looking defeated in the first period, the Capitals have life!

Evgeny Kuznetsov and Alex Ovechkin scored one minute and 54-seconds apart in the second period to tie the game.

They are not letting the 2019-20 season die… yet.

Evgeny Kuznetsov goal

Bald Kuzy got the Capitals on the board 3:35 into the second period.

While playing four-on-four, Kuzy went wide on the Islanders and beat Semyon Varlamov to the far post for a stunning goal.

Here’s another look.

Alex Ovechkin goal

On the line’s very next shift, Ovechkin scored from his office on the power play. After Kuznetsov had a great carry-in to the offensive zone, John Carlson dished to The Great 8 in his office. Ovi found the far side of the net with an absolute rocket.

Folks, it’s a tie game.

Ovechkin now has the 18th most goals in NHL postseason history.

Maybe the dumb hair cuts worked?
