Carolina Hurricanes young star Andrei Svechnikov was injured late in the third period of the Canes’ 3-1 loss in Game Three.
During a battle in front of the net with Bruins defenseman Zdeno Chara, Svechnikov’s right leg buckled, leaving his ankle and foot turned the wrong direction.

After the game, Rod Brind’Amour didn’t have an update and said the fall “certainly didn’t look good.”

Coming into the game, Svechnikov was one of the Hurricanes’ leading scorers in the playoffs, posting seven points (4g, 3a) in six games.
