John Carlson will miss his second straight game of the 2020 playoffs.
The Capitals announced 30 minutes before game time that the Norris Trophy finalist will not play against Philadelphia.

Carlson has not played in a game since an awkward fall into the end boards during the third period of the Capitals’ exhibition game against the Carolina Hurricanes. Carlson missed one practice before returning to the ice last Saturday, but the Capitals continue to be overly cautious with their first-pairing defenseman.
βThe number-one thing is we are not putting him out there with a chance to make his injury worse,β Reirden said. βHeβs too important to our team.β
