Alex Ovechkin posted a very good picture of the reunited Caps’ Russians sitting on a couch to his Instagram. Ovi and Dmitry Orlov sandwiched a jorts-wearing Ilya Samsonov, while Evgeny Kuznetsov and Ilya Kovalchuk beamed from behind.
The caption, “RUSSIAN 5 💪❤️,” refers to the five Russian players on the Detroit Red Wings in the 1990s, helping them to two Stanley Cup victories.
*The “💪❤️” emojis refer only to the 2004-? Washington Capitals.
As all of the teams are in various stages of reuniting and/or isolating together, it’s unclear if this violates any health advisories from the NHL or other sources. Previously, Zazavone–an indoor activity center–shared a photo of Ovechkin, Kuznetsov, and Orlov observing protocol by wearing masks and gloves.
Stay safe, have fun, and hang out with as many loved ones as you (safely) can, Caps fam!
