The Washington Capitals and Pittsburgh Penguins will share a hotel during the playoffs

On Thursday night the NHL announced the hotel assignments once Phase Four begins. The NHL is full of jokes because the Washington Capitals will be staying in the same hotel as the Pittsburgh Penguins.

The two teams will be staying in Hotel X in Toronto along with the Boston Bruins, Tampa Bay Lightning, and Philadelphia Flyers. The rest of the Eastern Conference teams will be staying at the Royal York.

The announcement came on Twitter from an NHL Network screenshot posted by @NHL_Watcher.

Once the teams arrive at their hotels, they are not allowed to leave the bubble. Hefty punishments, such as a fine and loss of draft picks, will be put down on both the player and the team if anyone leaves the bubble without permission. Players are allowed to use the hotel pool if they social distance themselves.

Hotel X, part of the Library Hotel Collection, is located a 6-minute drive away from Scotiabank Arena. It features 404 rooms and a luxury rooftop pool. Attached to the hotel is a five-story sports club. It is unknown if the players will have access to the sports club for training.

The Western Conference teams will stay at two hotels in Edmonton.

We’re expecting this every night.
