Martin Fehervary and Vitek Vanecek are en route to Washington

Martin Fehervary and Vitek Vanecek are the latest Capitals players to be returning to Washington for Phase 2 small-group workouts and work visa extensions.

“Back to Washington,” Fehervary wrote on his Instagram Story photo as both players wore masks, setting a good example.

Fehervary, a talented prospect defenseman, played six games for the Capitals as an injury replacement during the season, impressing the coaching staff with his play at only 20. Meanwhile, Vanecek will fill in as black ace and be the fourth goalie on the team’s depth chart behind Braden Holtby, Ilya Samsonov, and Pheonix Copley.

Five Capitals players have been practicing at MedStar Capitals Iceplex over the last week-and-a-half including Braden Holtby, Evgeny Kuznetsov, Lars Eller, John Carlson, and Garnet Hathaway.

Dmitry Orlov announced he was flying back to DC on Friday while Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin is expected to return this week as well.
