The Washington Capitals had five players participate in their small-group workout Friday as fourth-line forward Garnet Hathaway joined his teammates at MedStar Capitals Iceplex, per The Athletic’s Tarik El-Bashir. Another big name player is now on his way too.
Friday, Capitals defenseman Dmitry Orlov posted his airplane ticket from Moscow to Dulles. The early return could be due to the NHL’s urging of foreign players to return by June 21 to get their work visas renewed and extended.
Orlov returned to Russia when the NHL suspended the season on March 12 and has worked out with his personal trainer Sergey Gvozdev. It appears the coronavirus pandemic has not stopped Orlov from training hard throughout the majority of the pause.
While at home, Orlov has also spent time with his wife Varvara and his one-year-old son Kirill.
