Here’s all the NHL’s tweets from the day the Washington Capitals won the Stanley Cup

Two years ago to the day, the Washington Capitals became Stanley Cup champions after defeating the Vegas Golden Knights 4-3 in Game Five, ending years of postseason disappointment. After not advancing past the second round in nine previous tries during the Alex Ovechkin Era, the Capitals eliminated the Blue Jackets in the first round, the back-to-back champion Pittsburgh Penguins in the second, and the Tampa Bay Lightning in the Eastern Conference Final to play for a championship for the first time in two decades. Then in Vegas, they did the dang thing.

The NHL’s social media, which had more access than anyone else, had extremely good tweets before, during, and after the game, including exclusive video from behind the Capitals bench as the final seconds ran off the clock.

Let’s take a walk down memory lane, shall we?
