A new Alex Ovechkin bobblehead was released on Friday and it’s an absolute must-have for your Capitals shrine.
The bobblehead shows a bearded Ovi winding up to slap a one-timer into the back of the net from his office. The Capitol Building sits in the background. The *coolest part* of the new Ovi bobblehead is that it includes a goal counter so you can update it as the Russian machine chases Wayne Gretzky’s all-time record of 894.
The resin masterpiece was created by FOCO – the best bobblehead company on planet Earth, in my not so humble opinion.
The bobblehead can be preordered here.
The goal-counting bobblehead is the perfect companion to the rare Ovi point-counting bobblehead the Capitals offered as a gift to fans who bought a holiday package in 2016. The bobbleheads were created to celebrate The Great 8 reaching 1,000 points in his career. Over the last few years, those bobbleheads have sold for hundreds of dollars on re-selling sites like eBay. Which means, you should totally get on these goal-counting ones before they sell out.
FOCO also sells a wide variety of creative sports merch, including these ultra-warm Capitals hoodeez and these fantastic Washington Nationals World Series champions bobbleheads.
The best part about the Ovi goal-counting bobblehead is we suggested the idea to FOCO and they made it. So can you guys please buy a heck ton of them so we can influence more big things like this in the future for you? Please and thank you!
Update 9 PM: FOCO announced that the Alex Ovechkin goal-counting bobblehead is the most purchased bobblehead in a single day in company history. And you guys did it while sports are basically canceled. What a fanbase.
The @NHL season is suspended but that isn't stopping @Capitals fans from celebr8ing Ovi's 700+ goals! Thanks to our friends @russianmachine Caps fans have set the FOCO record for most purchased bobblehead in a single day … & still counting! pic.twitter.com/ZqDRN7VjZz

Update 4:30 PM: There are less than 70 remaining.
Update 5:45 PM: The entire 2,020 run has officially sold out.
