Grubauer spent parts of six seasons in Washington and was a part of the organization during TJ Oshie’s entire tenure in DC. The German netminder also began the 2018 postseason, when the Capitals won the Stanley Cup, as the starter before yielding to Braden Holtby.
Other happy interactions between ex-Caps included Tom Wilson and Andre Burakovsky who shared laughs and smiles when they met up during faceoffs.
