“Better” is the word I would use to describe the Washington Capitals effort on the road against the Colorado Avalanche. To be fair though, it wouldn’t be tough to play much better than the past couple inexcusable efforts, but we’re being positive today. It did take a late comeback, but the whole process was there in the 3-2 win.
The Caps out-shot the Avs 38 to 34 and out-attempted them at five-on-five 45 to 44.

Out-chanced the Avs from a “high danger” standpoint at five-on-five in the third period 8 to 0. That is money and so was Braden Holtby.

- John Carlson tallied two more assists. He has a total of 54 this season which only trails Leon Draisaitl‘s 58.
- Doughnuts apparently fuel TJ Oshie as he now is on a three game goal scoring streak. He has nine points total in his last nine games.
- I thought Nick Jensen had a very impressive night. The Caps at five-on-five with him on the ice grabbed 61.3-percent of the shot attempts, a plus-three advantage in scoring chances, and a plus-four advantage in high danger chances. He also provided the primary assist on the winning strike.
