Joe Beninati and Craig Laughlin tabbed to call Capitals-Avalanche game nationally as Alex Ovechkin goes for 700 goals

Joe Beninati and Craig Laughlin will be covering the game like normal for NBC Sports Washington, but in a change from other national Capitals games in the past, they will also be doing the call for NBCSN too.

The NBCSWSH telecast of the Caps-Islanders game on Monday was also picked up by NBCSN too, which was news to me. NBC Sports Washington found out about the news on Sunday.

“I believe Craig’s one of the best analysts in hockey and he shines when we do national,” Alan May said. “I’m so happy for them!”
