TJ Oshie wasn’t named to the Metropolitan Division All-Stars on Monday, but there’s still a chance he could make the team.
Monday afternoon, Oshie was selected as Washington’s representative for Last Men In – a vote that allows NHL fans to determine the final player of each division for the 2020 All-Star Game.
For Oshie, it would be an incredible honor.

Despite a stellar career, the popular Capitals forward has never been an NHL All-Star before. The game is also being held in St. Louis where he was first drafted and initially made a name for himself as a player in the NHL.
St. Louis Blues broadcaster, Darren Pang, recently took to Twitter to encourage the NHL to name Oshie as Ovechkin’s replacement.
“Last thing we need at any All Star games are players that don’t want to be there, for whatever reasons,” Pang wrote. “This may work out perfectly, as TJ Oshie would be a fine replacement for the game, and fans in St.Louis.”
Oshie is tied with Jakub Vrana for second on the Capitals in goals (15) and is fifth on the team in points (27).
