Sunday morning, the Washington Capitals sent down reserve forward Mike Sgarbossa down to AHL Hershey.
Sgarbossa has played in the Capitals’ last two games with Nicklas Backstrom, Carl Hagelin, and Nic Dowd all out due to injury. The forward registered one shot in 16:13 of total ice time.
Despite playing yesterday, Sgarbossa suited up for the Bears during their 3 PM game against Providence today.

The Capitals don’t play until Wednesday. The transaction suggests that one of the injured forwards may be readying a return in the coming days.
Sgarbossa leads the Bears in points with 14 in 17 games, including seven goals.
