Playing in his 44th game one year to the day after his debut, Seigenthaler, 22, took a pass from Travis Boyd. With a sharp release, Siegenthaler beat Vegas goalie Marc-Andre Fleury, and the celebration began.

Brendan Leipsic retrieved the puck.

“I saw they were all collapsed,” Siegenthaler said to NBC Sports Washington’s Al Koken at intermission. “I saw there was open ice in the middle so I tried to jump up in the play. It went in. Happy about that.”

Prior to Saturday, all six of Siegenthaler’s points had been assists.

The goal came one full year to the day after Siegenthaler made his NHL debut.
