The best beat writer the Washington Capitals ever had, Isabelle Khurshudyan, is leaving us. The Washington Post’s Caps writer for the last four years, Khurshudyan will now move to Russia to become the paper’s Moscow correspondent.
I have some (personal) news: I’m moving to Moscow to be a foreign correspondent for The Washington Post! It’s my dream job.
Covering this World Series is my last assignment in Sports, which I haven’t totally wrapped my mind around yet.

Khurshudyan documented the Caps through a historic period, but it’s been clear for a while that she can do a lot more than sportswriting. We’ll miss her enthusiasm, her sharpness, and especially her patience with dumb-ass bloggers.
On behalf of everyone at RMNB, I want to thank Isabelle for her excellent work and congratulate her on her new opportunity. Izzy, we can’t wait to see what you do next.
p.s. I still love this photo.
Took a creepy photo of Braden Holtby and Philipp Grubauer catching up this morning. pic.twitter.com/5ps0o0Wr3s
